MaineCare and GLP-1s

Look up weight loss on MaineCare's drug list and you find a class with no drugs in it — just a sentence saying the category is not covered, and three older products named as no longer covered. The GLP-1s Maine does pay for are filed somewhere else on the same list, under headings that describe a heart, a liver or a sleep study rather than a scale.

  1. A class whose only content is a refusal

    The Weight Loss heading exists on the list. What sits under it is the reason nothing else does.
