What we like

The two fees Nurx actually charges sit together under one heading, in plain sentences, with the recurring one named as recurring.
It says outright that the monthly fee cannot be billed to insurance, which is the kind of line most sellers bury.
Every branded pen card carries the words pick up in person, not shipped by Nurx, so nobody discovers the fulfillment model at checkout.
Oral options are priced individually from $15 a month, with the insurance-covered figure shown beside the cash one.

What could be better

The largest figures on the page are averages for a pharmacy Nurx does not run, attached to specific drugs, which reads more precise than it is.
The cards price orals at $15 to $75 while the FAQ on the same page says an oral plan runs $60 to $329, and nothing reconciles the two.
You pay $79 to find out whether you qualify, and that fee is not refundable if the answer is no.
No state list, on either the weight management page or the notice of privacy practices.

What it is

A women's-health telehealth service that added weight management to birth control, acne and menopause. A provider licensed in your state reviews an intake and writes a plan — the asynchronous model most of this market runs on — then you fill it. Branded GLP-1 pens are picked up in person; Nurx does not ship them.

That makes it a prescriber, not a seller of drugs. PlushCare works the same way, and so does Calibrate, which bills your insurance instead. The difference is what each of them publishes about the part they do not control.

What it actually costs at Nurx

Two fees, both stated under one heading: $79 to be evaluated, charged whether or not anything is prescribed, and $79 a month afterward for a provider to manage the medication. Nurx adds that the monthly fee cannot be billed to insurance. QuickMD charges one visit fee and no monthly fee at all.

The pen figures — $1000 for Zepbound, $1300 for Wegovy, $650 for Victoza — are labeled on average and for the lowest dose. They are what a pharmacy charges, not what Nurx charges, and the page tells you to ring your pharmacy to confirm.

Oral plans are the cheap route: metformin at $15 a month, bupropion with naltrexone at $60, a three-drug capsule from $75. Those Nurx does ship. That combination is the approved one, not the compounded low-dose naltrexone sold as a wellness add-on. How we date and source every figure on this site applies to all of them equally.

Who it's wrong for

Skip it if you want one number that covers everything. There isn't one here, by design — you pay Nurx, then you pay a pharmacy.
Skip it if the branded pen is the point and you have no coverage. The averages Nurx prints for those pens are among the largest figures we've seen.
Skip it if you need to know your state is served before you start. No state list appears on either of the two pages we read.
Skip it if a recurring fee for a prescription is what you object to. Hello Alpha sells visits by the month in two tiers, and Wisp charges its consult fee again before the first refill.
