Hims vs Hers vs Ro for weight loss
Hims, Hers and Ro work the same way: a membership that costs $39 the first month and $149 a month after, plus the brand-name drug, billed separately. The differences are in the drug prices. Hims and Hers list the Wegovy pill from $149 a month and the Wegovy pen from $199, with no price by dose. Ro prices the Wegovy pen by dose: $199 for the first two months, then $349. Hims and Hers each received an FDA warning letter in September 2025; we found none to Ro.
What this comes down to
- None of the three adds the membership and the drug into one number. Month four on the Wegovy pen is $149 + $199 at Hims, $149 + $199 at Hers and $149 + $349 at Ro.
- Hims and Hers print "from" prices with no dose ladder, so a higher dose may cost more. Ro shows what each dose costs.
- Hims and Hers each have their own FDA warning letter from September 2025, about marketing claims for compounded semaglutide. By September 2026, every weight-loss price on both sites was for a brand-name drug.
- Hims: membership$149
- Hims: Wegovy pen, from$199
- Hers: membership$149
- Hers: Wegovy pen, from$199
- Ro: membership, billed monthly$149
- Ro: Wegovy pen, 1 mg to 2.4 mg$349
Each company bills the two separately and prints no total. Prices read on each company's own pages, September 2026.

What do you pay in month one and month four?
Each company charges a membership and the medication as two separate bills. The membership is $39 for the first month at all three, which makes month one look cheaper than every month after it. From month two it is $149 a month at Hims and $149 at Hers. Ro's monthly plan is $149, and its page shows lower monthly rates if you prepay for longer.
| Drug and company | Month 1 | Month 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Wegovy pill, Hims | $39 + $149 | $149 + $149 |
| Wegovy pill, Hers | $39 + $149 | $149 + $149 |

Membership + medication, as each company bills them
Two things to read into that table. First, the Hims and Hers drug prices are floors: both print "from" with no price by dose, so month four at a higher dose may cost more than shown. Second, Ro's $199 Wegovy price covers only the first two months at the two starting doses, and the standard label schedule increases the dose every four weeks, with escalation delayed if it is not tolerated[5]. If escalation follows that schedule, month four is priced here at $349. Zepbound increases to 5 mg after four weeks; further increases may occur after at least four weeks on the current dose, depending on response and tolerability[6]; Ro charges $449 from 7.5 mg, which you reach in month three only if your clinician raises the dose on that schedule. Hims and Hers also list Mounjaro at $1899 a month, far above the vial price.
The drugmakers sell the same drugs for cash with no membership. NovoCare Pharmacy lists the Wegovy pill from $149 and the Wegovy pen at $349 after its introductory fills, and LillyDirect lists Zepbound from $299, though you still need a prescription. Wegovy pill vs injection compares the two forms, and what a telehealth membership actually buys explains why the two charges are kept apart.
Which drugs does each one sell?
All three sell brand-name, FDA-approved drugs. Hims and Hers price the Wegovy pill, the Wegovy pen, Zepbound and Mounjaro. Ro's pricing page prices the Wegovy pen and Zepbound by dose. The Wegovy pill, approved in December 2025[4], is the same drug as the Wegovy shot, taken daily on an empty stomach[5]. Foundayo is the other approved GLP-1 pill.
Did Hims and Hers stop selling compounded GLP-1s?
On their weight-loss pages, yes. When we read them in September 2026, every weight-loss price on Hims' and Hers' sites was for a brand-name drug, and neither listed a compounded GLP-1. A year earlier the FDA had written to both about how they marketed compounded semaglutide (below). Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed for safety, effectiveness or quality before sale[3]. Compounded vs brand covers the difference, and the compounded semaglutide price board lists companies that still sell it.
Has the FDA sent Hims, Hers or Ro a warning letter?
- Hims: yes, one letter dated September 2025, addressed to Hims & Hers Health, Inc., dba Hims. It said two claims on its site about compounded semaglutide ("Same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy" and "Clinically proven ingredients") were false or misleading[1].
- Hers: yes, its own letter dated September 2025, addressed to Hims & Hers Health, Inc., dba Hers, about similar claims on the Hers site[2].
- Ro: we searched the FDA's warning-letter index for the company and brand names and found none. This dated search is not a complete regulatory history.
A warning letter is the FDA's notice of what it found, not a court ruling, and these two concern marketing for compounded drugs rather than the brand-name drugs the sites now price. The FDA's 2026 warning letters to telehealth sellers covers the wider wave.
Who does each one fit?
- Hims and Hers fit someone who wants the Wegovy pill through telehealth and is fine paying a $149 monthly membership on top of the drug. Hers is the women's brand of the same company.
- Ro fits someone who wants to see what each dose will cost before starting, and who may prepay the membership to lower it.
- If coaching matters more than the drug brand, Noom Med vs WeightWatchers Clinic compares two programs built around it.
Questions people actually ask
Is Hims or Ro cheaper for weight loss?
For the Wegovy pen in month four, Hims lists $149 + $199 (membership + a "from" drug price) and Ro $149 + $349. Hims prints no price by dose, so the comparison at a higher dose is unclear; Ro's prepaid membership lowers its side.
How much is the Ro membership?
$39 for the first month, then $149 a month on the monthly plan, with lower monthly rates for longer prepaid terms. The medication is billed separately.
Are Hims and Hers the same company?
Yes. Both are brands of Hims & Hers Health, Inc. Their weight-loss pages price the same drugs at the same figures, and the FDA wrote a separate warning letter to each brand.
Do Hims, Hers and Ro sell the Wegovy pill?
Hims and Hers list it from $149 a month plus membership. Ro's pricing page did not price the pill when we read it; it priced the Wegovy pen and Zepbound.
Does the membership include the medication?
No, at all three. Each says the medication is billed separately from the membership, and none of them prints a combined monthly total.
