LifeMD, Inc. is a publicly traded telehealth company prescribing FDA-approved GLP-1s after an online visit, with compounded alternatives available when a provider decides they're appropriate. Those two options are not interchangeable, and the real differences between a compounded GLP-1 and the brand decide which price you should be comparing.

Its structured weight-loss program bundles lab work and insurance navigation, backed by a money-back guarantee if you don't lose 10% of your body weight within a year. The same company sells the Wegovy tablet under a second brand, Rex MD, at one flat rate, so a price shopper comparing the two is comparing one owner.

What it actually costs at LifeMD

The three medication prices are plain on their own — the Wegovy pen, the Zepbound vial, and the oral Wegovy tablet all list a clean cash-pay number before insurance. NovoCare Pharmacy, the drugmaker's own counter, sells the same pen and tablet with no program fee behind them.

A separate program fee sits apart from those prices: $39 for the first month, then $149 a month, covering clinician visits, coaching, and lab work. LifeMD says plainly that "medication cost is not included" in that fee, and it never adds the two together anywhere. Hims runs the same two-line structure, down to the size of the recurring fee.

Insurance can knock the medication side down to a $0–$25 copay, if your plan covers it. That is a bigger if than it was a year ago: Pennsylvania Medical Assistance stopped covering GLP-1s for weight loss and Medi-Cal delisted Wegovy and Zepbound outright, both on January 1, 2026.

Who it's wrong for

Skip LifeMD if you're budgeting off the drug price alone — the program fee roughly doubles what most people actually pay, and it isn't spelled out until you're past the landing page. It is the same trap the starting-at headline is built to set.

It's also not the fastest option if you already know which drug you want and just need a script filled. The lab testing and coaching structure is built for people who want ongoing guidance, not a quick refill. ZipHealth prices the same branded products dose by dose and prints its service fee on the same line.
