Zepbound’s refill savings window starts at receipt of the prior supply
Lilly’s applicable refill offer uses the previous supply’s delivery or received date and a completed refill purchase. A reminder, prescription request, or package shipping date is a different event.
What this comes down to
- Identify the product presentation covered by the offer.
- Keep the prior delivery date and refill transaction date.
- Savings timing does not prescribe a dosing schedule.
Record the two events that matter
The current Zepbound Journey terms require an applicable refill purchase within 45 days of the prior prescription’s delivery or receipt. They say the purchase offer will not apply after that window. The rule concerns specified products and strengths, so check the branch governing your purchase.[1]
Use a small calendar containing the prior received date, the last date the program confirms for eligibility, the next prescription request, and the planned purchase. Ask the program how it counts the boundary date if timing is close. Do not substitute an order reminder for evidence that the refill purchase was completed.
All listed continuation clauses require completed purchase within 45 days after prior delivery/receipt. This condition does not cover the 2.5 or 5 mg presentations.[1]
| Branch | Applicable presentations |
|---|---|
| Self Pay Journey | Single-dose vials or KwikPen: 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15 mg |
| Commercial noncovered KwikPen card | KwikPen: 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15 mg |
| KwikPen self-pay card | KwikPen: 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15 mg |

Deal with delays before the boundary
If authorization, prescriber review, or pharmacy stock is holding the order, ask which action remains incomplete. Ask the program whether the offer has an exception or later claim route for your circumstances; do not assume a delay automatically extends eligibility.
Caremark’s automatic-refill guidance illustrates the separate prescription-renewal step: a pharmacy may need to contact the doctor when refills are exhausted. That is a workflow example, not a finding that a particular LillyDirect order follows Caremark’s system.[2]
Do not turn a purchase rule into dose advice
Zepbound’s current prescribing information distinguishes its presentations and instructs that training should match the supplied presentation. A savings deadline does not authorize a change in dose, frequency, or device. Ask the clinician how to manage treatment if fulfillment is delayed.[3]
The dated Wegovy offer also defines eligibility by fills within its offer period. This is a different manufacturer example of why transaction dates matter; its deadline is not substituted for Lilly’s delivery-based window.[4]
For another timing problem, read offer expiry and the fill date to distinguish enrollment from dispensing.
If the next visit must be moved while planning a refill, check appointment-change fees before the clinic’s cutoff.
Questions people actually ask
Does asking for a refill complete the purchase?
No. A refill request, prescription review, and completed payment are separate events; confirm which event the program requires.
Does the savings window tell me when to take medication?
No. It is a purchase condition. Follow the prescribed plan and ask the clinician about treatment interruptions.
Can pharmacy delays extend the offer automatically?
Do not assume an extension. Ask the program about the specific order and obtain any exception in writing.
