A GLP-1 offer can expire before your prescription is filled

Enrolling in a savings offer before its deadline does not always reserve the price. Read whether the terms require redemption and the actual prescription fill within the offer period.

Every source below is listed so you can check it yourself.

What this comes down to

  • Check the event named in the deadline.
  • Introductory fill limits and expiry dates are separate conditions.
  • An expired indexed promotion is not a current purchase quote.

Find the deadline verb

The Wegovy self-pay terms updated July 28, 2026 require redemption and filling by the stated offer deadline. They also limit the introductory injection offer to the first two qualifying fills, with later fills moving to the standard offer. Enrollment alone is not the same event.[1]

Write the deadline beside the event it governs: enrollment, redemption, purchase, or dispensing. Then ask the pharmacy how long the remaining steps may take. This recommended calendar prevents a patient from completing an intake in time but learning that the pharmacy transaction is too late.

In the July 28, 2026 document, the injection introductory offer requires redemption and filling by December 31, 2026 and covers at most the first two qualifying 28-day fills. Its separate tablet introductory offer required redemption and filling by August 31, 2026. That tablet deadline had already elapsed when read on October 6, 2026; it is historical, not an available introductory quote. Confirm the current terms for the intended formulation.[1]

Separate the fill count from the expiry

The manufacturer overview distinguishes new-patient introductory offers from later rates and describes product-specific limits. A person can be within a calendar deadline but beyond the allowed introductory fills; the two tests must be checked independently.[2]

Before paying a consultation fee specifically to access an offer, ask whether the clinician can evaluate you and the pharmacy can fill the prescription within the available period. An estimate is not a guarantee, but it exposes the steps on which the budget depends.

Use the terms for the intended product

Wegovy’s eligibility page separates tablets and injection supplies. Lilly’s Zepbound terms likewise distinguish product and program branches. Confirm that the date and fill count you read belong to the actual product proposed, rather than another delivery format.[3]

If a saved page or search result shows an earlier promotion, compare it with the current official terms before making a decision. Retain the offer version used by the pharmacy, especially where a manufacturer can amend the program.[4]

If the offer remains valid but the bill is larger than expected, check the savings cap before concluding that expiry caused the difference.

Questions people actually ask

Does signing up preserve the promotional price?

Only if the terms say so. Some offers require actual redemption and dispensing within the stated period.

Can a fill be within the deadline but outside the introductory offer?

Yes. A program can have both a time limit and a separate limit on the number of introductory fills.

Should I use an older indexed offer?

Confirm the current official offer for the exact product and transaction before using an old promotion in the budget.
